A VENTURE of FAITH & DISCOVERY

Welcome to our adventure as we share our journey through words and pictures, while we travel through Southern China & Beijing. We'll be biking through villages and experiencing rural life & culture, worshiping with Chinese Christians, hiking the Great Wall, touring the Forbidden City and Tiananmen Square, participating in service projects, and so much more.

Please be encouraged to scroll through the posts and pictures to discover what the team is experiencing. Want to know what the team may be up to on a given date? Olivia's Shepherd's Field Reflection

Today we went to Shepherd's Field (a foster care minstry that cares for children that have a wide variety of physical & mental challenges.  Shepherd's Field was so much fun and was definitely a life changing experience.  I met this little boy named Robert.  Robert had something wrong with his legs and couldn't walk.  As soon as I walked into the room he crawled over to me and said "up, up, up!" I was so happy he wanted me to hold him. When I picked him up I noticed that his legs weren't right.  It made me so grateful that I am healthy and have a family.

Robert was so cute, happy and inspirational.  The rest of the day we did crafts and Robert was either in my arms or in my lap. We made crafts together and played. What made me so happy was that Robert didn't care that his legs didn't work - he made the best out of everything. I am so glad glad that I got the chance to meet him. It was definitely a life changing experience that I will remember the rest of my life.

  1. Hi Olivia,
You and Robert have inspired me to stop whining (to myself) about my silly feet and back problems. Gotta feel grateful that everything "works". Thank you for the wake-up call,! :)
    Love, Mrs. Martin
