Today was a beautiful clear day full of history, shopping and moments of faith. We began the day visiting the Hutongs, one of the last preserved housing areas of old China. It is a charming way of life that is almost extinct. We went to a Chinese Christian church for our next stop. It was amazing to see literally hundreds of people, mostly nationals, lined up to worship. We had some heart warming conversations with some of our students from BCIS. It was an opportunity to offer insights & witness to them. Our St. Paul's kids made us proud with the love they shared about Jesus. Next stop was the Temple of Heaven, an amazing work of art & engineering. Afterwards we were off to haggle at the local swap meet - 2 hours of power shopping. We finished the day with a "taste bud party" of Peking Duck. I am constantly in awe of our kids & their perspective. I take comfort in knowing they are our future.
Special Hugs & Kisses to Delany, Sean & Pat!
LOVE your post, Kris. Wish I could be there to also experience the pride you feel for our kids, but since I can't/couldn't, thank you for sharing. I feel it from across the miles of ocean! xoxo, Mara
